The art curriculum at St. Francis school is designed to tap into the natural imagination of a child by supplying a framework of developmentally appropriate lessons and activities leading toward self expression. The art room provides a wonderful opportunity to experiment with various art materials. Each material has its own creative properties and limitations that become apparent through hands on exploration and practice. Creative confidence will be gained as students learn about color theory, elements and principles of art, art history, and the work of the masters. A blank piece of paper will no longer be intimidating. Students will learn art is fun! They will learn “I can” not “I can’t.” They will learn they are artists!
