Pre – Reading: Our letter for the week is Ll. We will listen for l at the beginning and at the end of words. We will also introduce words in the –og family: dog, hog,jog, bog, log, fog, It is helpful if you practice reading these words with your child.
Math: This week we will practice writing 3, 4 and 5 and we will continue to match sets to numerals. We have started using a number line and are learning what number comes before and after.
Religion theme: People Are Special
This week our objective is to help the children understand that God created all people and God made each of us special. God gave us all special gifts and talents.
Writing: We will continue to write in our journals and we will make a class book of things we are thankful for.
Social Studies: We will read about the Pilgrims, who they were and why they left England. We will learn about how difficult the voyage on the Mayflower was and how difficult their first year in America was.
Notes
Our annual Christmas Show will be held on December 20th at 6:00 PM in the evening. All children will participate and everyone is invited to attend.
Picture re-takes will be Thursday, November 17th. Children having their picture taken may wear regular clothes. If your child is not having their picture taken, he/she needs to be in Dress uniform.
